Future Perfect continuous Tense
Identification of the Tense: - The event is happing for a long time and will continue in near future. Ex:-
- Rajiv will have been going to school for last one year.
- I shall have been playing football since morning.
- He will not have been studying for a few days.
- Shall they have been living here for a long time now?
There was continuity in the happening of all the events for a long time and remain so in the near future .
Usage:- In Future Perfect Continuous Tense we usually use
- First form of the verb + ing and
- Will have been (with singular subject) Shell have been (with plural and I)
- Since if point of time is given/for if duration of time is given.
Ex:- Since 1988 (point of time)/ for 22 years (duration of time)
Explanation:-
In first sentence"Rajiv will have been going to school for last one year."
Rajiv a singular noun is preceeded by will have been followed by first form of the verb go+ing. For is used to represent the period of time.
In second sentence"I shall have been playing football since morning."
I although representing a singular pronoun is considered in the category of plural while applying rules is preceeded by shall have been followed by first form of the verb play+ing. Since is being used to represent the point of time i.e morning.
In the third sentence"He will not have been studying for a few days."
Being a negative sentence like this not is inserted in between will and have been followed by first form of the verb study+ing.Other rules being the same.
In the fourth sentence"Shall they have been living here for a long time now?"
Being an interrogative sentence plural pronoun they will be preceeded by Shall other rules remaining same.
